Policeman Misplaced His AK-47 With 60 Rounds Of Ammunition While Watching AFCON Finals In Delta

In a shocking story reaching RantHQ, a Nigerian police inspector identified as Yusuf Samaila, from the PMF 51, Oghara, headquarters of Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State, has said to have lost his AK-47 rifle with sixty (60) rounds of ammunition in it.

The police man who is said to be attached to the Palace of the Olu of Warri, lost his service rifle with breach number: 0927, with 60 rounds of ammunition on Sunday night, February 11, while watching Super Eagles of Nigeria playing against Ivory Coast during AFCON finals.

According to reports, the incident occurred at the Palace premises where he is working.

A source who confirmed the story to newsmen, revealed that Samaila, had locked his rifle inside the room before going to watch the football match, but on getting back to his room, he couldn’t find the gun where it was kept.

The source said; “It was during half time when he came back to his room, he discovered that the room was burgled and his rifle had been taken away by an unknown person.

“Based on this, his unit commander attached to Olu of Warri Palace went to Warri Area Command to incident the case of missing firearm that the Inspector locked his AK-47 rifle with breach number: 0927, in his room and went to watch the AFCON finals between Nigeria and Cote d’Ivoire within the palace premises.

“The police officer has been defaulted while an effort to recover and arrest anyone behind the stolen rifle and ammunition is in place.”

However, when the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe Bright, was contacted on the phone, he simply replied with an SMS, saying; “False, the rifle was immediately recovered.”
