Yobe State Lists 6,800 Palliatives Beneficiaries Across Potiskum LGA.

The State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) in Yobe has commenced the distribution of Governor Mai Mala Buni’s palliatives in Potiskum Local Government.

According to the Executive Secretary of SEMA, Dr. Mohammed Goje, confirmed that the state government has targeted over six thousand eight hundred beneficiaries across Potiskum LGA.

He also added that beneficiaries, includes people living with disabilities, vulnerable households, primary and secondary school teachers, civil servants, students, elders, widows, orphanages, and a lot of other vulnerable categories.

He said,”Yobe State palliatives distribution started since the announcement of the subsidy removal; both the state and federal governments channelled their efforts towards alleviating the suffering of people as a result of the subsidy removal.”

“We have strong communication from the federal government. Already we are starting to receive consignments from the federal government, and we are reaching more communities with either state or federal government palliatives as directed by the Executive Governor.”

“We have selected the beneficiaries from the population of the communities in the local government, from among vulnerable households, and according to [the outcome of] community leaders and stakeholders engagement.”
