Novak Djokovic, Oga Swiatek and Coco Gauff were some of the big names who reached the third round of the on going US Open Tennis Championships in bothe the Men and Women Singles’ Event yesterday.

While Djokovic defeated Bernabeu Zapata Miracles in three straight sets of 6-4 6-1 6-1, Swiatek and Gauff took out Daria Saville and Mirra Andreeva inntwo sets of 6-3 6-4 and 6-3 6-2 respectively .

Quite Surprisingly, Caroline Wozniacki who came out of retire before the start of the tournament, defeated Petra Kvitova in two sets of 7-5 7-6 to advance into the third round.

Shockingly, Stepanos Tsitaipas, Casper Ruud and Christopher Eubanks were eliminated at the second round stage of the Men Singles’ Event. Unseeded Dominic Sticker took out out Tsitaipas 7-5 6-7 6-7 7-6 6-3 while Benjamin Bonzi [also unseeded] defeated Eubanks 7-6 2-6 6-2 7-6.

Zhizhen Zhang became the 1st Chinese manto earn a win over a top five opponent, beating Fifth Seed the 2022 US Open Men Singles’ Champion Casper Ruud 6-4 5-7 6-2 0-6 6-2 to advance to the third round.

Elsewhere and in the Women Singles’ Event, Taylor Townsend defeated Brazil’s Beatriz Haddad Maia in two sets of 7-6 7-5 while Elena Rybakina walked over Ajla Tomijanovic to reach the third round
