Nigeria’s Senior Female Football National team , the Super Falcons moved eight places up the monthly FIFA Rankings following an impressive showing at the just concluded 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup .
Before the commencement of the World Cup co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand, the Falcons occupied the 40th spot but after posting an impressive showing at the Global soccer fiesta, the 11 time African Champions moved up eight places to occupy the 32nd spot.

The Falcons were unbeaten in four games played at the World Cup, bowing at the the round of 16 stage to England via penalties following a goalless draw. The Randy Waldrum led team begin the tournament with an impressive goalless draw with Olympic Champions Canada before beating Co-host Australia 3-2.

They secured their passage to the round of 16 with a comforting 0-0 draw with tournament debutant Ireland in their last group stage games. Assisat Oshoala and her team mates remains the top ranked African team in the latest FIFA Rankings.
