Spanish football player , Jenni Hermoso denied claims that the Kiss given to her by Spanish Football Federation chief Luis Rubiaes during the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup trophy presentation was not Consensual.

The Pachuca of Mexico forward issued an official statement on Friday evening to rubbish Luis Rubiales claim that the unfortunate kissing incident was done mutually, stating at no time did she consent to being disrespected by the Spanish football chief

“I want to clarify that, as seen in the images, at no time did I consent to the kiss he gave me and, of course, in no case did I try to lift the president. I do not tolerate my word being doubted, much less making up words I have not said” Hermoso stated.

Hermoso in the statement, made mention of the fact that she has been put under pressure to issue out a joint response to alleviate the brewing crisis [ in support Mr Luis Rubiales claims] , an act that goes against her beliefs as an individual

She maintained that while it was her putting down this words, her national team mates and other female players around the World are in support of her move ..She also stated that as long as the current leadership of the Spanish Football Federation remains in charge , she will no longer play for the National team.

She frowned at the fact that rather than the team celebrating their historic feat of winning the FIFA Women’s World Cup for the first time in their history, the unfortunate incident and the fallout of it has overshadowed what was meant to be celebrated by her and her team mates.
