Budapest 23 : Tobi Amusan falls short of Defending her title with a 6th place finish in the 100m Hurdles final

igerua’s Tobi Amusan failed in her quest to defend her World title , finishing a distant sixth in the final of the 100m Hurdles of the World Athletics Championshíps.

It was a disappointing finish for the world record holder as she reached the finish line at a time of 12.62 seconds with Jamaica’s Danielle Williams becoming the new champion after she reached the finish line at an impressive time of 12.43s

Puerto Rican Yasmine Camacho-Quinn with a finish time of 12.44s sealed second apt while United States’ Kendra Harrison came third with a finish time of 12.46s.

Jamaica’s Ackera Nugent who Amusan finished ahead of in yesterday Heat 5 semis, finished in fifth place with a finish time of 12.61 behind fourth placed Devynne Charlton who reached t finish line at a time of 12.52.

If Tobi Amusan had successfully defended her world title she would have filled in the footsteps of the American duo of Gail Devers [1993 and 1995] and Michelle Perry [2005 and 2007] who bothe achieved the feat of defending their title
