Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey has been voted ‘man of the match’ in his first start for Fulham against Hoffenheim. The 22-year-old had the highest percentage vote of 53.5% of all votes cast to win the award.

Bassey came in as a substitute in his first game for Fulham against Chelsea in America. In his first start for Fulham against Hoffenheim, Bassey scored and was formidable in the defensive line.

Bassey joined Fulham from Ajax this summer in a deal worth 22.5m in a four years deal with an option to extend by a year.
