Co- host Australia made it into the quarter final stage of the on going FIFA Women’s World Cup after beating Denmark 2-0 at the Sydney football Stadium.

Catlin Ford’s 29th minute opener and another goal from the impressive Hayley Raso in the 70th minute was enough for the Aussies as Denmark failed to capitalize on their overall dominance.

Chelsea’s Sam Kerr made her first appearance in this year’s tournament after recovering from an injury she picked up before the start of the World Cup. She came on for their second goal scorer, Hayley Raso with 10 minutes left to play in the game.
