Nigeria Women’s Basketball team under the guidance of new manager Rena Wakama has written another history at this year’s edition in Rwanda. They beat 2019 host nation Senegal in the final to retain the title – which they have now won for the fourth time on the streak 2017, 2019, 2021, and now 2023).

In the first half of the tie in BK Arena Kigali, Nigeria Took the lead by 43-31 against Senegal having controlled the possession in the first and second quarters respectively. Senegal bounces back in the third quarter with a huge lead to tighten the points. The fourth was in favour of the Tigress who extended their points to 84 -74 at full.
