Coup; President Ahmed Tinubu Places Embargo On Niger Republic

Chairman of The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), president Bola Ahmed Tinubu has taken a bold step to restore law and other in Niger Republic.

It was reported that the decision became urgent due to the attempted coup in Niger Republic by the National Guard as the President Mohamed Bazoum his family were reportedly on hostage.

President Ahmed Tinubu issued an order at the end of a crucial meeting, making a declaration of No Fly Zone, sealing of land, sea and air borders, freezing of all the country’s accounts with member nations.

The summit also demanded an immediate release of President Mohamed Bazoum, adding that the hostage president remains legally recognized president of Niger Republic.
