Morocco picked up a first ever win at a FIFA Women’s World Cup following their 1-0 success over the Republic of Korea at the Coopers Stadium in Adelaide.
With both sides chasing their first win at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup, it was the Moroccans who took the lead as early as the 6th minute. A superb header to the far çorner by Ibtissam Jraidi was a goal worthy enough to become the country’s first ever at a FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Although, the Koreans were slightly the better side over the course of 90th minutes but just couldn’t get the better of World Cup Debutants as Morocco produced a disciplined performance all through and especially after taking the lead.
the result effectively ended the campaign of Korea after also losing their opening game against Colombia. Morocco, who lost to Germany 6-0 in there opening encounter on the other hand would go through to the next round of they beat Colombia [ if the South Americans lose their 2nd game against Group leaders later today ].
