Jamaica won their first ever FIFA Women’s World Cup game with a 1-0 win over Panama at the HBF Stadium in Perth.
The first half was characterized by miisplaced passes and poor decision making. However, the Reggae Girls without the suspended Khadijah Shaw were the better side .
33 minutes in and Drew Spence could have given Jamaica the lead but after beating her marker inside the box, her effort struck the side net.

Few minutes later and a penalty call was ignored by the referee in favour of Jamaica, Yenith Bailey in goal for Panamadid well to deny Vyan Sampson from getting the game’s opener.
Before the break, Jamaica had another chance but Drew Spence’s superb freekick struck the woodwork with Yenith Bailey beaten by the effort.
Jamaica started the second half strongly and duly took the lead courtesy of a well taken effort in the 56th minute. Allyson Swaby, the Jamaica’s captain rose above everyone in the box to nod home from a corner kick delivery by Trudi Carter.

The goal was only Jamaica’s second ever FIFA Women’s World Cup goals and their first in this year’s edition.
The game’s opening goal gave life into the contest as Panama stepped up and made it a bit competitive and open.
Late on and before the end of the game, Jamaica were awarded a penalty by the referee but after her attention was drawn by theVAR official, she changed her initial decision . Panama gave it everything at atleàst get a point , applying pressure but it proved to be too little too late.
