Fulham football club have completed the signing of Nigerian International Calvin Bassey from Ajax for a few believed to around €22.5m. He put pen to paper on a four year with the option of another year’s.
The London based outfit, using their verified social media platforms, confirmed the player’s arrival and this was after the former Glasgow Rangers completed his medicals.
“I know how big of a club Fulham is. They always have quality players, they’re playing in the Premier League, the best league in the world, so I didn’t have to think much about it!”, Bassey says.
The 23 year old centre back spent only one season at Ajax Amsterdam following his arrival from Glasgow Rangers in July 2022 for club record fee of around £20 but struggled to impress under Johny Heitinga.
He made 39 appearances for the Eredivisie giants and scored only one goal across all competitions last season. Born in Italy but spent his formative years at Leicester City, Bassey arrives just days after Fulham confirmed the signing of Mexican forward, Raul Jimenez for £5.5m
