The four Nigerian Pemier League that would take part in the 23/24 CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup now know their first Preliminary opponents following the conclusion of the draws for both competition.
In the CAF Champions League, NPL champions Enyimba faces the daunting task of eliminating Algeria’s Ahli Benghazi. The winner of the game which is over two legs will subsequently come up against the winner of the game involving Coton Sport of Cameroon and A sec Mimosas of CIV.
While Remo Stars would trade tackles with Medeama FC of Ghana over two legs. The winner of the aforementioned fixture would come up against Horoya FC of Guinea in the 2nd round of preliminary action.

If Enyimba and Remo Stars can scale the various hurdle in front of them , they move straight into the Group stage of the Champions League..

In the CAF Confederation Cup, Bendel Insurance of Benin will face Algerian side Aso Chief in the preliminary stage of the competition over two legs , while Rivers United are not going to take part in the first Preliminary round of the competition but would be heading straight to the second round of preliminary action. They will face the winner between Casa Sports of Senegal vs Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso for a place in the group stage of the competition.
The first leg of these fixtures will hold between the 15th and 17th of September while the 2nd leg will hold between the 29th of September and 1st of October.
