Manchester United got the better of Arsenal, beating their Premier League rivals 2-0 at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, United States..
The first real chance came Arsenal’s way in the 23rd minutes but Tom Heaton twice denied Gabriel Martinellii in quick succession.
However, it was the Red Devils who took the lead at the half hour mark courtesy of a left footed strike by Captain Bruno Fernandes after 18 year old Kobbie Mainoo picked him up with a pass. Aaron Ramsdale in goal should have done better in trying to keep Fernandes’ effort away.
As if that wasn’t enough from the Arsenal goalie, Jadon Sancho took advantage of Gabriel’s mistake just in front of the 18 yard box, raced clear off the Brazilian centre back and hit the ball so powerfully that Ramsdale couldn’t save to make it 2-0 seven minutes after their first.
The first half came to an end on that fashion with United clearly the better outfit

At the start of the second half Erik ten Hag made 10 changes to his United side , with Tom Heaton in goal , the only one who returned for the second half. On the other side of the divide , Mikel Arteta made only one change but still, there was nothing little to show in the early stages of the second that the Gunners would react swiftly.
Despite the numerous changes made at the start of the 2nd half, United never looked in danger of letting their two goal advantage slip although Kai Havertz saw his header land on top of Heaton’s post just after the hour mark.
Arteta made a number of changes in an attempt to change their fortunes but United continued to keep them at bay , remaining composed with and without the ball till the end.
