Peter Obi Allegedly Incites Anarchy

Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi has written off the address presented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the result of the presidential elections. In a statement through his lawyer, Obi described the address as “desperation taken too far”.

According to the petitioners in their written address filed by Peter Obi’s lead counsel, Livy Uzoukwu (SAN), he maintained that the truncation of the rule of law will result to anarchy in the country.

The letter reads: “This is a cheap, misguided, and destructive blackmail clearly intended to target the country’s judicialize and constitutionalism. It also aims at cannibalizing our democracy. “When has it become offensive for Petitioners to canvass a ground prescribed for the challenge of an election in section 134(1)(b) of the Electoral Act? Desperation taken too far can be extremely dangerous.

“Let the 2nd and 3rd Respondents (Tinubu and Kashim Shettima) know that where the rule of law is trampled upon or truncated, anarchy reigns supreme.”
