The House of Representatives have decided to investigate all appointments made under the past administration of former president, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (Retd.).
It was reported that the Reps has made an approach to the Federal Character Commission to tender a report of appointments in Ministries, Departments, and Agencies between 2015 and 2023.
According to reports, the bid was passed during the plenary session on by Paul Nnamchi, a Labour Party lawmaker from Enugu. Nnamchi noted that, “Twenty-four years after its constitutional entrenchment, the perception is that there exists brazen domination of the bureaucratic, economic, media, and political posts at all levels by a section of the country at the expense of the others.”
He stressed that, “Federal Character Commission has virtually abdicated its constitutional and statutory responsibilities and degenerated into personality clash of interest among its commissioners as was the case about a year ago.”
