Pre Season : Postecoglou’s loses first game in charge of Spurs as West Ham wins 3-2

Ange Postecoglou ‘s reign as Spurs manager didn’t go as planned in front of his country men as Tottenham Hotspurs lost their Pre Season opener to fellow Premier League side West Ham United 3-2 .

gianluca Scamacca’s 78th minute strike turned at to be the decider in the game played at the Optus Stadium in Perth, Australia.

The Australian manager and David Moyes went for a relatively strong starting line up , with the Spurs boss handing a first start for newbies James Maddison, Manor Solomon and Guiglielmo Vicario.

Despite havinga slightly better starting eleven as compared to West Ham, it was the UEFA Europa. Conference League holders who took the initiative, dominating the early exchanges and so it wasn’t much of a surprise when they took the lead.

Jarrod Bowen’s brilliant cross found Danny Ings’ head in the area -wkth the former Southampton forward’s header finding the back of the net after 18 minutes.

Shortly after that and in the 23rd minute, it got bad for Postecoglou ‘s men as they conceded a second. Another precise cross from Emerson found academy product Divin Mubama at the right place – with the younger nodding the ball into the back of the net .

Just before the break , Yves Bissouma and Christian Romero missed successive chances from point blank range with Lukasz Fabianski doing well to deny the former from scoring.

Manor Solomon [ Spurs ] also saw his curling effort tipped over by Fabianski at the closing minutes of the first half.

At the start of the second half and not sure what Postecoglou had up his sleeves, he changed the entire eleven just so to perhaps give everyone a run out.

Moyes on the other hand kept faith with the side he put out in the first for the second half. However, Moyes made a couple of switch before the hour mark, bringing onGianluca Scamacca and Kamaria Simon-Swyer for Ings’ and Mubama.

Postecoglou ‘s men were much more fluid in the second half , scoring twice in quick succession to draw level with roughly 20 minutes left on the clock. Lo celso smashed in Spurs first in the 69th minute .

Destiny Udogie scored Spurs second two minutes on, drawing his side level on his debut. However,, Scamacca grabbed a 3rd goal for West Ham seven minutes after the lilywhites drew level.
