former Manchester United winger, Ryan Giggs has had the domestic abuse charges dropped this morning ahead of a retrial.

Giggs, 48 was accused of assaulting his girlfriend Kate Greville [36] at his £1.7 million house in Worsley, Manchester,. The incident was reportedly said to have happened in November 2020

Alongside the assault charge of his girlfriend, Giggs was also charged for attacking the sister [to his girlfriend] Emma Greville.

However, this morning the Prosecutor, Peter Wright KC told Manchester crown court that they were not proceeding with the case anymore.

The latest development comes after Jurors failed to reach a verdict following 3 weeks of trial in August last year. A retrial was scheduled to commence on the 31st of this month but that wouldn’t happen any longer.

Giggs, up until his recent travails was the Manager of the Wales national team. He stepped down from his role in July last year and was replaced by his assistant Rob Page.
