This type of virus can be contagious, it causes sores, most often around the mouth or on the genitals . This begins with the formation of blister (vesicles) and fever as well as ulcer of the mouth which will be difficult to eat or drink. The vesicles break within a day or two, leaving superficial painful ulcer that heal without treatment within about 10days. Later the infection becomes latent and the affected person may have recurrent diseases(herpes Simplex labia list, core sore, fever blister)

Causative Agent
This is caused by herpes Simplex Virus, it is a medium sized, enveloped virus containing double stranded, linear DNA.
Treatment And Prevention
Acyclovir inhibits HSV DNA polymerase and halts the progress of HSV diseases, but it does not affect latent virus and thus cannot rid the body of HSV infections.
