The Serbian in his usual blistering form took the first two set quite comfortably before winning the third set via the tie break rule and the contest in general.
Djokovic’s victory over Sinner means he would be appearing in his 5th straight Wimbledon Open men’s singles final and a ninth one in general. Sunday’s final would be an impressive 35th grand slam final for the Serb.
He awaits the winner of the second semi final between World number 1 Carlos Alcaraz and Danil Medvedev, a game already in motion.
In a related development and courtesy of fans who voted, Christopher Eubank won the 2023 Breakthrough inspiration award sponsored by Oppo. The USA player who had a good run at this year’s championships won the award ahead of Mirra Andreeva, Jiri Lehecka and Marta Kostyuk [ the other nominees for the award.
