The Nigeria Super 8 semi-final was concluded this evening after Sporting Lagos defeated Akwa United by 2-1 in the first game held at Mobolaji Johnson Arena Lagos – on the same wavelength, Remo Stars defeated Lobi Stars to seal a spot in the final.

Sporting, despite losing the first half by a lone goal to Akwa came from behind in the 55th and 69th minutes respectively to seal an historical victory of 2-1.

The Sky Blues, who won in both halves, scored their goals in the 22nd and 47th minutes to deny Lobi Stars an opportunity. Lobi pulled one back, but unfortunately was not enough to see through the Ikenne-based club.

The final, which is slated for Sunday 16th July, will feature two teams from South West clubs Remo Stars of Ogun vs Sporting of Lagos.
