Liverpool FC have disclosed via their website that Darwin Núñez will take over the No. 9 jersey worn previously by Firmino who left the club to Saudi Arabian league as a free agent.
The club said fans who already purchased a new home and away jersey printed with ‘Darwin Núñez’ and the number 27 will be reimbursed with another jersey ‘Darwin 9’ shirt.
“Fans who have already purchased new 2023-24 home and away jerseys printed with the name ‘Darwin’ and the number ‘27’ will be personally reimbursed by Nunez with a like-for-like exchange for a ‘Darwin 9’ shirt.
The exchange only applies to all ‘Darwin 27’ 2023-24 home and away shirts or kits purchased in official club retail outlets, via the official LFC online store or LFC Store app. Any qualifying shirts or kit must be returned with proof of purchase by 11.59pm BST on Saturday, August 19, 2023. Any ‘Darwin 27’ shirts and kit exchanged will be retained by the club and donated to the LFC Foundation.”
Darwin Núñez joined Liverpool last season in a deal worth €75m and add-ons of €25m.
