Reps’ Directive to Ministry Of Education Addresses School Fees Increment Issue

The Nigerian National House of Representatives has sent a directive to all Federal Universities and Federal government owned schools across the federation to withhold any plans of School fees increment

This is an aftermath of two motions by some Members of the House of Representatives:

Hon Aliyu Sani Madaki and Hon Saidu Musa Abdullahi (seconded by Hon. Kama Nkemkanma)

The lawmakers explained the need hiked school fees be reversed and implementations be put on hold and suspended until further notice.

Following this motions, the House made a directive for the Federal Government to instead make provisions and enhance the Educational sector.This enables Nigerian students have affordable and qualitative standard of Education.

According to reports Federal Universities had their fees hiked by 100% to 200% .Hostel fees wasn’t left out too. It got hiked from 50% to 100%.

The Federal Ministry of Education is yet to make a statement about this latest development as at the time of this report.
