Former Arsenal and Super Eagles legend, Kanu Nwankwo has been appointed Supervisor of Nigeria Premier League winner, Enyimba FC of Aba. The news was revealed in a statement released by Abia State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Prince Okey Kanu.
Kanu will replace Felix Anyansi-Agwu who has been the Club’s Chairman for over 23 years. Kanu Nwankeo and Finidi participated in Ajax’s triumph over Milan during the 1995 Champions League final—the governor expects their partnership with the state-owned club to be upbeat.
The People’s Elephants, who are known to be the most successful club in Nigeria, added another trophy to their profile after the completion of the 2022-23 abridged NPFL season. Enyimba won their 9th title following their radiant campaign in the just concluded Super 6 Championship held in Lagos.
Enyimba, who are the last Nigerian club to win a Continental trophy, will participate in the CAF Champions League along with Remo Stars.
