Top seed , Igak Swatiek and Elina Svitolina both secured their place in the quarter final stage of the on going Championship after beating Belinda Bencic and Victoria Azarenka respectively.

There was something similar about the way and manner both Swatiek and Svitolina went pass their opponents, bouncing back to win their various contest after losing the first sets.

While Swatiek won defeated Bencic 6-7 7-6 6-3 in a contest that lasted over three hours, Svitolina outlasted Azarenka in a rollercoaster three set thriller to progress to the quarter finals 2-6 6-4 7-6.

Swiatek’s passage to the quarter final stage was the first time she managed the feat at Wimbledon. She has never made it to that stage before today’s game.

Meanwhile, Men’s world number 2 Novak Djokovic is currently in action against Hubert Hurkacz in the last game of the day.. The Serbian star is currently in control of that tie, after taking the set 7-6 .
