Wimbledon : Rublev Secures Quarter Final Place Following A Hard Fought Win Over Bublik

Andrey Rublev survived a major scare to reach the quarter final of the Men’s singles event after an energy sapping contest between himself and Alexander Bubllik.

Rublev took the first two set but Bublik fought right back, taking the next two set via the tie break rule. However , it was Rublev who came out victorious , picking up the decisive 5th set to win the contest 7-5 6-3 6-7 6-7 6-4.

Elsewhere, 8th seed Jannik Sinner surged past Daniel Elahi Galan in straight sets 7-6 6-4 6-3. Sinner became the first Italian man in history to reach the quarter final stage at Wimbledon on multiple occasions.

Also , Roman Saflullin came from a set down to beat 26th seed Denis Shapovalov of Canada 3-6 6-3 6-1 6-3.

Concluding the day’s activity , 18th seed Hubert Hurkacz would face the daunting task of eliminating world number 2, Novak Djokovic.
